Horned Frog athletics was in full swing during the weekend with strong performances from several teams.

Swimming and Diving

The H2O Frogs came out on top against Centenary College, setting five pool records at Haynes Fitness Center Pool.

The men stay undefeated, the only team remaining without a loss in the Mountain West, winning 9 of 11 events at Centenary.

Junior swimmer Edgar Peyro proved key in the victory with two individual wins in the 400-individual medley and the 100-breast.

Jeff Gettel, a junior swimmer, kept his backstroke record flawless with another victory, advancing to 11-0 for the season.

The women swept Centenary in all 11 events.

Saturday marked freshman swimmer Rachel Nash's first college multi-win meet taking home victories in the 100-free and the 200-free.

Basketball

The basketball program took a hit this weekend with a pair of losses to New Mexico.

The men fell 73-57 to the Lobos as a result of turnover trouble. New Mexico scored 19 points off of 16 TCU turnovers.

The women also came up short this weekend with a 60-53 loss to the Lobos.

Heading into Saturday's game, the Lady Frogs were tied for No. 1 in the MWC and ranked No. 20 by the Associated Press.

Although the contest remained close with eight ties and 10 lead changes, the Lobos came out on top, knocking TCU out of the top-25.

Rifle

The women's rifle team advanced its winning streak to seven with a victory over UT-El Paso on Saturday.

Senior Erin Lorenzen put up an aggregate score of 1,164, helping to lead the Frogs to a 4,636-4,551 win.

This was TCU's first home matchup of the spring.

The victory came without help from two of the team's top scorers, freshmen Sarah Scherer and Sarah Beard, who were in Munich, Germany, participating in the Bavarian Championships as representatives of USA Shooting.

Equestrian

In their lone home event of the semester, the Frogs added a 13-7 victory to their record against Tennessee-Martin.

The equestrian team is ranked No. 7, and it defeated Tennessee-Martin in all categories Saturday despite the bitter cold.
