Three straight losses doesn't mean the team isn't playing well and hard, TCU head soccer coach Dan Abdalla said.

"I'm pretty happy with how we're playing," Abdalla said. "Now the challenge for us is can we get it to the final bit, that last little piece in terms of the hunger, the desire to do whatever it takes to not give up goals and (to) score goals."

The women's soccer team faces UNLV Thursday night in Las Vegas after dropping three straight conference matches.

The Horned Frogs are coming off a tough road trip in Utah. They lost two matches during the trip to BYU and the University of Utah.

TCU goes to Las Vegas with an 8-9 record and a 1-4 record in the Mountain West. UNLV has a 5-6-5 record with a 1-2-1 record in the Mountain West.

"We've got to go in and we've got to keep the game as fast paced as possible," Abdalla said. "Its going to be a great game. They're always a well-disciplined team, work really hard, defend extremely well, and they've got a couple of players that are very dangerous offensively. We've got to be aware of those things, and we've got to commit ourselves to the things we know we need to do to win game."

TCU tied UNLV in a 1-1 double overtime game last year in Fort Worth.

The Rebels scored the first goal in the 57th minute of the game. A Jackie Torda goal tied the game in the 84th minute for TCU. The Horned Frogs shot five goals in the first overtime, but couldn't connect on any. TCU missed on two more shots in the second overtime and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Abdalla will be returning to his alma mater as he coaches the Frogs. He was a goalkeeper for UNLV from 1994-1997. He also coached the UNLV women's soccer team for five years. He had a record of 54-38-8 while at UNLV before becoming the head coach at TCU in 2005.

Sophomore forward Jordan Calhoun leads the Horned Frogs with eight goals this season. Senior forward Lizzy Karoly is second on the team with five. Four players are tied for third with two goals a piece.

Calhoun also leads the team in assists with six. Senior mid fielder Michelle Nguygen and redshirt sophomore Kaylie Garcia are second on the team with three assists each.
