A recently reported sexual assault case near campus is being described by Fort Worth Police as a date rape incident, but police have made no arrests, a police spokesman said Friday.

The female victim and the suspect met each other at a party Oct. 2, where they drank together, Fort Worth Police spokesman Lt. Paul Henderson said. The woman and the suspect left the party and went to Fuzzy's Taco Shop, where they continued to drink, Henderson said. The woman and the suspect left the eatery at about midnight and walked to the woman's residence, Henderson said. The location of the incident is noted in the police report, but the Skiff is withholding the address to protect the victim's identity.

The woman told the suspect she was going to bed but told him he was welcome to come into her residence, Henderson said. The woman told police she changed clothes and went to sleep, and later awoke to find the suspect assaulting her, Henderson said. The woman told the suspect to stop and asked him to leave before she passed out, Henderson said. When the woman woke up, the suspect was in bed next to her, and she asked him to leave, which he did, Henderson said.

"This is what is considered a date rape," Henderson said, adding that the case does not involve a serial rapist.

The police report, filed Wednesday, did not give information about the suspect, and Henderson said he didn't know whether the suspect or the victim is a TCU student.

TCU Police said earlier a female student reported a sexual assault that occurred last week at her off-campus residence. The student was assaulted by an acquaintance, according to TCU Police.

Police are not releasing the suspect's name because of the ongoing investigation, Henderson said.
